Fix This Weekly #1: 3 Easy Fixes That Prevent Expensive Problems

Most expensive home repairs start as small problems that get ignored. Each week I’ll send a few quick checks and simple fixes that help prevent that.

🛠 Weekly Home Maintenance Check

This week take 5 minutes to check these:

1. HVAC Filter

Pull the filter out.
Check the size printed on the edge (example: 16×25×1).
If it looks gray or dusty, it’s time to replace it.

2. Bathroom Caulking

Check around tubs and sinks for cracks, gaps or peeling.
If water gets behind the wall it can cause mold and rot.

3. Under-Sink Leaks

Open the cabinet and check for moisture around pipes or dark stains below.
Small drips often go unnoticed until they cause cabinet damage or mold.

If your vinyl plank flooring has small gaps, use a rubber mallet and tapping block to push the planks back together.

If you only own one screwdriver, make it this one. It handles most small home repairs.
